- AB 768: Reserving Mobilehome Rent Control for Permanent Residents
- Ensures that mobile home owners who need the benefit of rent control most have access to spaces in rent-controlled manufactured housing communities by making explicit that non-permanent housing, including seasonal vacation homes and short-term rentals, is not eligible for local rent-control.
- AB 874: Affordable Housing Fee Deferral
- Makes building affordable housing cheaper to build by allowing community impact fees for 100% affordable rental and homeownership projects to be repaid over time at a low rate of interest.
- AB 917: Pathway to Permanent Status
- Requires local education agencies to grant permanent status to certificated employees in school districts and counties with an average daily attendance of less than 250 and for Regional Occupational Centers and Programs operated by a county office of education or a joint powers authority.
- AB 933: Maternity Leave Extension
- Ensures that any new mother, deemed disabled because of any illness or injury from pregnancy or childbirth, and eligible to receive disability benefits, must receive no fewer than 12 weeks of those benefits.
- AB 1060: School Wellness Centers
- Requires all new school site construction projects to include a dedicated space to be used as a school wellness center that can provide health support and resource referrals for students and staff.
- AB 1073: Third-Party Employment Verification
- Requires the Employment Development Department (EDD) to release employee wage information to a qualified third-party vendor, if requested by the employee, making it easier for job applicants to demonstrate and verify their employment history and improve access to lower-cost loans.
- AB 1307: Licensed Dentists from Mexico
- Facilitates implementation of the Licensed Dentists from Mexico Pilot Program, in which dentists from Mexico could obtain a 3-year nonrenewable dentistry license to practice dentistry in underserved areas of California.
- AB 1436: Obsolete Code Section
- Repeals an obsolete provision that required the Policy and Planning Division of the Public Utilities Commission to undertake studies of outreach efforts and make recommendations to the commission to promote effective outreach.
- AB 1493: School District Vacancy Elections
- Requires consolidation with the next primary or general election of any school or community college district special election to replace an appointee, ensuring greater voter participation and cost savings that can be spent in the classroom.
- AB 1627: MELT ICE Act of 2026
- The Misconduct Ends Law-enforcement Trust Act of 2026 (MELT ICE) disqualifies any person who has been employed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from being employed as a peace officer or public-school teacher in California.
- AB 2230: Save the Polls (From ICE)
- Makes it a felony for federal law enforcement—including members of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)—to be stationed at or enter a polling place, voting center, or childcare facility in California.
- AB 2258: Expanding California Childcare
- Increases funding for the Alternative Payment Program (APP), which offers financial assistance for parents needing childcare. Requires the reimbursement for childcare providers to be at 100% the true cost of care. Phases in an expanded eligibility for the program.
- AB 2278: IHSS Late Penalty Pilot Program
- Creates a five-year pilot program for Contra Costa County whereby the state would pay Community First Choice Option (CFCO) Late Penalties levied upon the county and the county would be obligated to expend an equivalent amount of funds.
- AB 2312: Martinez Waterfront
- Allows for the reconstruction and revitalization of the Martinez waterfront by extending the State Lands Commission’s filing determination period from 120 days to 180 days.
- AB 2366: Reducing California’s High Cost of Living Act
- Requires state agencies proposing to adopt, amend or repeal any administrative regulation, to assess the potential for adverse economic impacts on businesses and individuals in California—particularly the cost of living.
- AB 2480: Student Housing Density Bonus
- Allows affordable student housing developments to qualify for our state’s super density bonus law, allowing additional density increases that serve low- and moderate-income students.
- AB 2552: Vehicle Miles Traveled Clean-up Bill
- Affirms that a contribution to the Transit-Oriented Development Implementation Fund, in an amount determined pursuant to state guidance, constitutes full and complete mitigation for the portion of a project’s significant transportation impact addressed by that contribution and is a legally sufficient mitigation measure under CEQA.
- AB 2716: Oil Well Bonding Requirements
- Gives oil and gas well operators greater financial flexibility to cover the cost of plugging idle wells after a transfer of ownership, reducing the occurrence of orphaned wells and protecting California’s environment and public health.
- AB 2752: AQMD Oversight
- Requires the Bay Area Air Quality Management District and the South Coast Air Quality Management District to determine the cost of compliance and impacts on revenue, requiring districts to make a good faith effort to minimize any adverse impacts identified.
